I’m not good enough
I’m alone
I’m not important
I’m not capable

I’m not safe

Have you been feeling not good enough, worthy enough, or just not enough? Maybe you have had these feelings your whole life, or maybe they have just started. Are they impacting your day to day and making each day a little bit harder?

We are here to tell you that it does not have to be that way. You deserve to feel like enough. You deserve to shake that feeling of being stuck or like you are carrying around a backpack full of bricks of past issues.

EMDR is an evidenced-based treatment modality that can be used with a wide variety of issues to get you feeling more like yourself and feeling more capable to take on your day. It is a modality that truly works and can help shift the way you remember and feel about yourself and the world around you. It can support you in feeling good enough, worthy enough, capable enough, and you deserve that.

Our trained EMDR clinicians have a huge passion for EMDR because they have seen just how drastically it has helped people. It is not your traditional talk therapy, and actually is one of the few modalities where there can be very little talking about past events! Our clinicians do EMDR Therapy in Minnesota and online throughout various other states.

What is EMDR? What can EMDR be used for?

EMDR stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. It is an evidenced-based trauma treatment modality that supports making memories lose their emotional charge. EMDR is typically used to treat symptoms of trauma and PTSD, however, it can be used with a wide variety of symptoms and diagnoses. Typically, if there is a negative cognition (I’m not good enough, I’m not safe, etc.), EMDR can be helpful. Click here to watch a short video that will explain EMDR a little bit more.

Does EMDR work via online therapy?

Yes! Some clients actually find EMDR more helpful via online therapy due to being able to be in their own space during treatment. Our clinicians can do EMDR therapy in Minnesota in-person and virtually throughout various other states.

Does EMDR make me forget the memory?

No. EMDR helps the memory lose its emotional charge. You will still remember the memory, but in a way that it is a part of your history, rather than something that continues to feel jarring.

How long does it take?

Treatment length entirely depends on the individual and other factors. There are no “supposed to”s or “should”s in EMDR. The best way to get a recommended timeframe for treatment is to reach out to us for a consultation to hear more about your specific concerns and history.

What is Flash?

Flash is an advanced EMDR technique that works similarly to regular EMDR, but instead the client focuses on a positive engaging focus instead of the memory itself. This is also evidenced-based and very effective! Our EMDR clinicians are trained in both traditional EMDR and Flash. They can work with you to determine what would be the best fit.

Can EMDR be used with kids?

Yes! EMDR is evidence-based for all ages.

Is there anyone that EMDR or Flash is not appropriate for?

EMDR and Flash are both tools that generally work for most clients presenting with a wide variety of concerns. It can be helpful for trauma, OCD, even anxiety and depression! Generally speaking, there is not any specific population that EMDR or Flash is excluded for. However, this will be a conversation with your clinician to make sure it is the right fit for you!

How does this differ from regular talk therapy?

EMDR is a tool used inside of “regular” therapy. EMDR sessions can be 60 to 90+ minute sessions. EMDR is different from traditional talk therapy due to most of the sessions being spent doing reprocessing which actually involves very little talking. A lot of times clients find this modality more supportive because they do not have to talk extensively about their trauma.

What are EMDR intensives?

EMDR intensives are sessions that are longer in length (80+ minutes). This gives you more time to effectively process a memory and potentially get through treatment quicker. This is something that you can talk more in-depth with your clinician about to see if this would be a good option for you. Our team can do EMDR therapy in Minnesota and online throughout Delaware, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Colorado, Florida, and Vermont.
